┌──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ Stargunner Bug Revision List │
│ Patch Version 1.0b to 1.1 Written by Craig Allsop │
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
To apply this patch:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Copy ALL the patch files into your Stargunner directory. The patch
contains a new version of the executable (STARGUN.EXE) which should
overwrite your previous version.
2. Execute the patch file: PATCH010
Note:
~~~~~
The patch file will apply changes to STARGUN.DLT and then delete all
your save game files (*.SAV). This is necessary since the old save
files are not compatiable with this version.
Should you have any problems applying the patch you should delete the
Stargunner directory and install a new copy again. Then follow the
above instructions to apply the patch.
Problems:
~~~~~~~~~
Q. I ran the patch program but it gave me this error:
*ERROR, directory already patched, next version will be xxxx011
A. If you installed Stargunner again, you may get this error from
the patch program if you do not completely remove the
Stargunner directory. If this happens ignore the error and
press Y to make the patch program continue.
*WARNING, Can't patch (size changed from 5347538 to 5346364)
A. The file STARGUN.DLT has already been patched. Once patched it
should be 5346364 bytes long. If you got this error but the last
number is not as above you should install a new copy of Stargunner
and apply the patch again, otherwise this is no problem, just
run the game now.
Q. I ran Stargunner but it gave me this error:
- Exe (1.1) vs. Database (1.0b) version mismatch.
A. You have not yet applied the patch. Execute the patch program
PATCH010 and then run the game.
Changes to Version 1.1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- LFB (liner frame buffer) now defaults to OFF to avoid problems with
the buggy SDD 5.3 in VESA mode.
- Updated the credits screen.
- Corrected a save problem that appears at the end of the asteriod
field which causes the game to scroll forever.
- Corrected a configuration problem: If Stargunner is run before
setup, then setup is run, it fails to autodetect the sound card.
- Support for SEGA & SNES joysticks has been removed due to lack of
support by the author of the adapter interface needed to use these
joysticks.
- Fixed 'sprites active' bug if user presses F10 at the end of a stage
while stage stats are being displayed.
